Resources for GP practices

Safe Surgeries Toolkit

The Toolkit is the key guidance document for Safe Surgeries. It lays out seven steps for practices to help ensure that everyone in their community can access the healthcare they're entitled to. A printed leaflet version is also available on request.

Quick-reference poster for reception staff

This poster should be displayed behind reception and helps to remind staff of good practice guidelines for registering patients, in line with NHS England guidance and Safe Surgeries advice.

Social prescribing template

Referring patients to non-health support, especially for those facing complex social or legal issues, is a key part of holistic care. This template, to be completed and updated by practice staff, offers suggestions of key service types which Surgeries should be aware of in their local area. Some organisations which provide services nationally have already been suggested.

Posters for patient awareness

These posters are designed for display in waiting areas and let patients know that they are in a safe place and are entitled to register with a GP. More translations coming soon - if the language you're looking for isn't there, let us know!

For practices which need to display information in a number of languages, we've also created a single document with a shorter message in multiple languages: Migrant? Know your rights
