Corporate Fundraising Assistant Internship
The role involves:
• Research and first contact with companies.
• Assisting with the organization of events and written appeals.
• Assisting with the organization of the Luis Valtuena Humanitarian Photography exhibition: identifying exhibition venues in the UK.
• Maintaining the Communication and Events Department contacts database
• Assisting with general administration.
You may be the right person for this role if:
• You are from a communications/events/sales background and are looking to transfer to the charity sector or having recently graduated (or about to graduate) with a communications or events background, you are interested in acquiring and insight into communications and events within and international development organisation.
• You are autonomous and willing to work as part of a team.
• You are tenacious and dynamic.
• You are also confident on the phone and have a good telephone manner.
• You have a ‘can-do’ flexible attitude towards work.
• You are organised, able to meet strict deadlines and have a keen eye for detail
• You have fluent spoken and written English language skills, a working knowledge of French and Spanish is an advantage.
• You have excellent IT skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

Events Paid Internship (£2,500 for the entire internship)
3 days per week for 4 months
Reports to: Project:London , Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To take responsibility for the management of two health events for Doctors of the World UK and the HUMA network including promotion of the events to potential participants.
To deal with all aspects of administrative support including written and telephone communication, fulfilment and research.
MAIN TASKS
The Scope of the job
• Responsible for promoting, recruiting and offering outstanding customer care to participants
• Carrying out administrative tasks including mail merge and fulfilment, scheduled calling, bespoke letters, dealing with enquiries.
Duties and responsibilities
• Accurate keeping of data and all information relevant to the events
• Responding to participant’s requests and fulfilment of materials
• Development of relationships with supporters / participants
• Preparation of letters and pitches
• Publicise events in creative ways to reach the widest audience
• Fulfilment of regular participant communication mailings
• Advertising and finding new avenues of advertising
• To ensure all responses are handled within agreed standards
• To support participants through regular contact via telephone, email and letter as
agreed
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications / Knowledge
• Knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, powerpoint)
Experience
• Administrative experience
• Experience of working in customer relations environment
• Previous experience in events management
