Our operation in Haiti continues into the post-emergency situation with over 65 expatriate staff and 340 local staff.

Surgical work has now ceased but we are now running 25 mobile clinics in addition to other programmes which continue to help victims of the earthquake.  Read our report giving a full overview about the work we have carried out in Haiti.

Among the projects our team is offering is a psychological support programme. Games are being provided for children which, not only provide entertainment but also give them and their parents an opportunity to speak so that our teams can detect post traumatic stress disorder. Trained community workers make referrals to 3 hospitals where we are working on mental health issues.

British volunteer Professor Chris Bulstrode has returned home to a well-earned rest. He completed around 500 operations in 3 weeks. His experience in the field has attracted much media attention on TV, radio and in the newspapers including the BBC's flagship news programme, 'Today' on Radio 4.
