London to Paris Bike Ride 2006

A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION FOR 2006: GET FIT FOR A GOOD CAUSE: MÉDECINS DU MONDE UK (MdM UK)

You love cycling, travelling and exploring new routes. For the new year, you might be looking for a new challenge that can also “put something back” into society. How about getting fit for a good cause?

Médecins du Monde UK is staging a fundraising London to Paris Bike Ride, which will run between Friday 14 – Monday 17 July 2006. It is looking for fit and adventurous people to sign up and participate in what promises to be an incredibly challenging, yet ultimately rewarding, cycle ride. By raising funds to support Médecins du Monde UK’s work, participants will be helping to make health a human right.

Key projects that MdM UK has been involved in 2005 have been the emergency response to the tsunami region, the recent earthquake in Pakistan and the ongoing crisis in Darfur, Sudan. In 2006, MdM wants to keep the focus on the lack of long-term healthcare within all the forgotten crises around the world. The international MdM network currently runs 90 healthcare projects in 50 countries throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

To get an Information Pack for MdM UK’s London to Paris Bike Ride 2006, phone (020) 7516 9103 or email bike@medecinsdumonde.org.uk . Once deciding to participate, then complete and return the Registration Form with a non-refundable registration fee of £200. All participants need to commit to raising a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship funds.
