Doctors of the World is looking for Clinic Support Workers & Case Support Workers to help
patients at our free clinic and in our office. Clinics are Mon. Weds. or Fri. afternoons and the 1st
Sat. of the month. Case Support Workers work office hours. Applicants should be available for
several months.
Essential
- Desire to help vulnerable migrants
- Fluency in English
- Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
- Non-judgemental attitude towards service users from diverse backgrounds.
- Available to do at least one clinic every two weeks (Clinic Support Worker)
- Available at least 3 days per week (Case Support Worker)
- Good social and communication skills
- Confident telephone manner
Desirable
- Fluency in other languages
- Confident working with interpreting services
- Clinic Support Worker Responsibilities Include:
- First point of contact for service users in the clinic or health promotion setting
- Listening to service user's needs and identifying other support services
- Completing data collection forms with the service user
- Helping service users with bureaucracy & advocating on their behalf to NHS services
- Case Support Worker Responsibilities include:
- Longer term case follow up
- Listening to service user's needs and identifying other support services needed
- Helping service users with bureaucracy & advocating on their behalf to NHS services
- Accompanying service users to appointments, when necessary
