Project:London requires clinic doctors & clinic/outreach nurses. Please see below for a detailed volunteer description of each role.
Essential
- Desire to help vulnerable migrants
- Fluency in English
- Full registration to practice in the UK
- Non-judgemental attitude
- Available to do at least one clinic every month for a minimum period of six months
- Clear communication skills
- Doctors need Medical Indemnity Insurance which covers working in the Doctors of the World clinic
Desirable
- Fluency in other languages
- Confident working with interpreting services
Responsibilities include
- Providing medical checks for service users in the clinic setting
- Advocating on behalf of service users to fellow medical professionals in the NHS
- Providing information on other appropriate services
- Promoting healthy living
- Prescribing appropriate mediation for service users as required
