Catherine Giboin has been with Doctors of the World (DOW), previously Médecins du Monde, since 1994 and is currently serving as the Treasurer. She leads the funding strategy of the organisation and is responsible for maintaining the financial transparency of its actions and its accountability towards private and public donors.
Catherine has extensive experience with DOW both in the field and at the Paris headquarters. She has managed the Middle East and Asia desks and spent two years in Jordan as Country Representative. She has also carried out assessments, feasibility studies and emergency projects in Sri Lanka, Moldova, China, Niger and Pakistan.
Before joining DOW, Giboin spent 15 years working in the private sector in Paris. She also worked as a consultant and program coordinator in London, the Congo and Madagascar with the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
Since 2006, Giboin has been teaching a Masters course on Health and Humanitarian Organizations" at the Sorbonne in Paris. Giboin has a MBA from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Paris, and a MSC in Health Financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics. She also has a Masters Diploma in Political Science in Developing Countries, specialising in Asia and the Middle East, from the Sorbonne in Paris.
